I, John Simpson and my cousin, Doug
Bakken, own JD Tree Service. Compared to other tree services, our company is founded on a unique principle.
Our main priority is your satisfaction - NOT maximum production.
To achieve
this goal, both of us - the owners - work at every single job we do. Standard practice in the tree
industry is for the owner to be out finding other jobs, leaving your job in the hands of the cheapest employees he can hire.
We plan to stay small. This philosphy evolved over years of working for other tree services that we felt needed improvement.
We do a superior quality of work compared to most companies because, as the owners, we have more at stake
than employees do.
We understand that your home/property is your biggest investment. It makes
sense that you wouldn't trust just anyone to work on or around it. Both Doug and I have more than 10 years
of tree service experience and specialized training. Doug also has a Bachelor's degree in
business and I am currently working on mine at the University of Washington. In addition, we are both in the process
of becoming certified arborists. This means we've had classes on proper pruning, thinning, safety rigging,
tree structure diagnosis, etc.
We are fully licensed, bonded and insured. We proudly provide
proof of these at every estimate. (Don't make the mistake of doing business with any contractor who doesn't offer you
copies of these.) Our safety record is perfect. We have never had an insurance claim or accident.
